Surgery
While we always recommend the least invasive treatment that can effectively address a pet’s medical concerns, surgery is still sometimes necessary to address a health problem and improve a pet’s quality of life. We are highly experienced in performing a variety of surgical procedures and are always here to answer any questions you might have about your pet’s upcoming appointment.

What to Expect When Your Pet Needs Surgery
Preoperative Care
Before your pet’s surgery, we’ll schedule an appointment to perform a pre-operative physical examination and run a routine blood test, urine and ECG to ensure your pet is healthy enough to undergo the procedure and associated general anesthesia.
At this time, we welcome you to ask us any questions you might have about your pet’s operation and care. We will also provide you with pre-operative instructions that will likely include restricting your pet’s food the night before surgery and possibly administering medication.
Day of Surgery
We work with the utmost care and attention to detail and use only the highest quality medications, surgical tools, and patient monitoring equipment to ensure safe and effective surgical procedures with minimal recovery times.
Post-Operative Care and Recovery
After your pet’s procedure, we’ll provide you with a set of care instructions before we discharge your pet. This might include administering medication, caring for your pet’s incision site, restricting activities, and scheduling a follow-up exam.
